Each year boy scouts gather to participate in a derby reflective of the great
Klondike Gold Rush.  In the derby the scouts are formed into competive groups
transporting their gear on dog sleds often constructed by the scouts.  No dogs
are used, the scouts pull the sleds.  The scouts move along various trails from
one site to another about the fields of Camp Lakota.

Van Wert Amateur Radio Club members as well as those from other area clubs
plan to be at the big scouting event at Camp Lakota, near Defiance, Ohio. 
Amateurs will be providing the communication links that connect the sites, trails,
and headquarters.
