November 17, 2012

 

 

The regular meeting of the  Van Wert Amateur Radio Club was called to order by the President Jack Snyder at 8:00 pm local time on November 17th,  2012, with 15 members and 5 guests present. The minutes from the November 3rd,  2012 meeting was read and approved.

 

The Treasurer reported a cash balance on hand.  Motion to accept the report by Dave Taylor,  2nd by Ralph Shields.  Motion passed and report filed for audit.

 

Treasurer reported that he had received a bill for our equipment insurance. Cost is $84.00 Dave Taylor moved to pay the bill,  2nd by Ralph Shields.  Motion passed.

 

COMMITTEE / OFFICERS REPORTS:

Jack Snyder reported that the CAP classes have started. Dan Riley will handle the theory with Jack doing the Rules and Regulations.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Ralph Shields advised that he had met the District Emergency Coordinator at the Ft. Wayne Hamfest. Advised that he had obtained a supply of  commercial radios that can be programed on the Amateur 440 band. $20.00 each if he programs them or $10.00 if you want to do it your self.

 

Jack Snyder advised that the annual meeting will be coming up at the next meeting. Also, the annual Christmas party will be held at the second meeting night of December. Time is 6:00 pm at the club.  The club will furnish the meat and buns, all others bring a covered dish.

 

OLD BUSINESS: 

Dave Freels treasurer advised that he purchased two instructors manuals for the classes, and the motion from the last meeting only covered one. Motion was made to purchase the additional instructors manual by Ralph Shields, 2nd by Cork Poling. Motion passed.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

The issue of donating the license books to the CAP was discussed. A motion was made by Dave Freels that we would donate the books, 2nd. By Ralph Shields. Motion passed.

A motion to adjourn by Ralph Shields,  2nd  by Dave  Taylor.  Adjourned at 8:44 pm.
